Course Code (05HRR)
We can provide training in rope rescue to the international ITRA 1 syllabus. This training is suited to those workers from industry, some with IRATA or other rope access qualifications to expand their knowledge and capabilities to be able to rig and perform rescues using the equipment that they have available.
The course is a three or four day course and all candidates must be able to operate in an ‘at height’ environment.
Using a twin rope system for safety and redundancy purposes the course syllabus covers: Relevant Regulations and Legislation; Potential Hazards and Risks of the rope rescue environment; Natural and Man Made Structures; Equipment for Rope Rescue; PPE (Harnesses etc.) for rope rescue; The basis of the twin rope system; Anchors and their selection; Rigging ropes for rescue; The rope Rescue Technician role; The Edge Safety Officer role; The Rope Rescue supervisor; Lowering to rescue; Raising to rescue; Transitions between lowering and raising; Pulley systems; Haul systems; Rescue Stretchers; Emergency Procedures; LOLER and Equipment Use recording.
